September 1986. The C&TS got no passenger equipment from the DRGW, so Scenic Railways the first operator was forced to convert boxcars to coaches. The results were functional but hardly desireable. But that was all the railroad had for 15 years. By 1986 the first real passenger cars (the "Antonito" cars) were going into service, but the Chama trains remained all boxcars. According to Earl Knoob, that is Jim Shawcroft piloting the 487 through Lobato.
